Dr. Sarvapriya Sangwan, YouTube National Head of BBC World Service, delivered a lecture on the ‘Essentials of Short Video’ to the students of Journalism and Mass Communication at SGT University on April 17, 2023. The Faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology organized this lecture within the University premises.

SGT University organizes such programs regularly to provide its students with practical exposure and ensure their all-around development. The University is committed to providing its students with the necessary support and guidance to help them succeed in their chosen fields.
The lecture aimed at providing students with valuable insights into the world of short video creation, its importance, and its impact on social media platforms. The lecture also emphasized the CLPR model of character, location, problem, and resolution for students to understand the importance of conveying their message through short videos on platforms like YouTube. Dr. Sarvapriya Sangwan also shared her personal experiences and success story with the students. She expressed her gratitude towards SGT University, where she studied BDS in the year 2005 from SGT Dental College, Hospital, and Research Institute. She credited the University for providing her with the necessary support, guidance, and inspiration at every step, which helped her reach the position she holds today.

During the lecture, the students had an opportunity to interact with Dr. Sarvapriya Sangwan and ask industry-related questions. She encouraged the students to work hard and follow their passion. She also assured them that their future is bright as they are studying at SGT University.

Professor Sushil Manav, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology, appreciated Dr. Sarvpriya Sangwan’s hard work and dedication. He also encouraged the students to work towards achieving greater heights in their careers.

The Head of the CLC Department, Dr. Sarju Devi, Dr. Sarika, Associate Professor, the Head of the Media Department Kranti Anand, Bishamber Boss, Dr. Teji Isha, Neha, Abhishek, and Tushar, among other assistant professors, were present at the event.

After the lecture, Dr. Sarvapriya Sangwan was felicitated by the Dental College. Dr. Onkar Setty, Dean of the Dental Faculty, and other professors were present at the felicitation ceremony.
