The faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology in the SGT University organized a guest lecture on ‘Changing Dimensions of Media Reporting.’
The session started with an introductory note by Hon’ble Dean – Mr. Sushil Manav; he introduced our experts to the audience and gave a short glimpse of the Faculty of Mass Communication & Media Technology.
Ms. Vibha Sharma, Special Correspondent in the Delhi Bureau of The Tribune, started the program emphasizing a good journalist who always presents the correct picture because delivering facts is essential in the media. She said that credibility is the very foundation of the media. Further noted that newspapers have more credibility than television because words printed in the newspapers remain there for eternity and can’t be erased. During her address, she indicated significant changes in journalism in the present era.
Ms. Vibha Sharma shared her experiences of reporting with the students. She said that television journalism is more attractive than print journalism, but print journalism presents in-depth information and enjoys more credibility. At the end of the programme, a question-answer session was organized. The programme was moderated by the students of BJMC Semester-V, Lokbhadra Singh, and Bhavya Pandey. Associate Professor Shri SK Pandey gave the vote of thanks. The programme was conducted on the Shooting floor, A Block of the SGT University.
