Film Appreciation Course in association with FTII (Film and Television Institute of India, Pune) (13th October to 17th October, 2017)

The Mass Communication Faculty is broadening its horizon by getting associated with India’s premier institutes. This year, the department got into an alliance with India’s best film institute (FTII) to conduct a Short term Film Appreciation course. The course helped our students learn the Grammar and Styles of cinema from around the world. It began with the history of cinema and its evolution. In the process the students saw some of the most rare & historic clips from world cinema. Lectures and Film Screenings by experts from FTII were followed by Question-Answer sessions with our students. Our students freely interacted with FTII faculty and experts and gained much knowledge about film making.

One of the Experts, Shri Munish Bhardwaj, also the Director of successful Bollywood film, ‘Moh, Maya, Money’ took a session on Script Writing and explained the nuances of Production stages.

The course was graced by the presence of India’s finest Woman Film maker from Bollywood – Ms. Sai Paranjpye. Her film ‘Disha’ was screened and then she was interviewed by the students.
She enthralled our students by her ‘behind the scene stories’ about film making process and bollywood actors.

At the end of the course, students received certificates from FTII for their participation.
