Prof. (Dr.) Sushil Manav is the Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology. Prof. Manav is an award-winning journalist of standing with a rich experience of over 35 years working with leading newspapers in the country. He retired as Chief of Bureau for Haryana with The Tribune, Chandigarh. He also headed a team of reporters for Chandigarh Tribune, the city pull-out of The Tribune. Post his retirement from The Tribune, Prof. (Dr.) Sushil Manav joined Millennium Post, a national daily published in New Delhi and Kolkata, as an Associate Editor. Prof. (Dr.) Sushil Manav has covered four generations of politicians during his political reporting in Haryana. He penned several thousand news stories that have been published in The Tribune, The Times of India, Millennium Post, and some vernacular dailies. He has also been contributing news and features in several leading digital media platforms in the country. He has been writing about politics, social issues, agriculture, governance, crime, and a host of other issues. Many deprived people got justice from the authorities after Prof. (Dr.) Manav highlighted the case in his news stories. Many of his public interest stories have led to changes in the policies by the State and the Central governments leading to relief for those affected by the policies. In 2010, Prof. Sushil Manav was awarded “Satyapal Saini Memorial Award”, the topmost journalism award by the Haryana Government. In 2022, Prof. (Dr.) Manav was awarded “Kalam Ke Sipahi Award” by the Newspapers Association of India. Prof. (Dr.) Manav has been awarded Honouris Causa PhD Degree by Dayspring Christian University, Secunderabad. Prof. (Dr.) Manav’s contribution to Development Journalism has been immense and this has been acknowledged by the academia of some state universities in Haryana. In the course of his journalistic career, Prof. (Dr.) Manav has interviewed politicians, including a Deputy Prime Minister of the country, several Union Ministers, Chief Ministers, and Ministers.
